Will adult Chinese Firebellies eat live brine shrimp? If they do how many shrimp should be given per day/every 2 days.

And how do I keep brine shrimp alive, because in the store they give them to you in a deli cup (foam cup) with a coffee lid on it. What do they eat?

i tried to feed my five chinese fire belly newts those about 2 or 3 months ago. At first they tried to eat it but its exo skelton prevented them from eating it. All that they did was stress out my smaller newts so i removed them from the tank. Do what you want with yours but mine did not particularly like them. hope that helps:lol::lol:

Keep the brine shrimp in the fridge. The cold reduces thier metabolism so you don't have to feed the shrimp but they still are only good for a couple of days. The ability to eat the shrimp depends on the size of the newt and adult C. orientalis shouldn't have any problem with brine shrimp as I have fed them to larval A. opacum with no problem.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
