It´s been the craziest August in here...i can´t remember ever being at 18ºC at midday in the middle of august...
Normally i would be worrying about heat waves, and now i´ve got my windows opened broad and my tanks are at 20ºC.
Is it being a weird summer for you too?
I can´t believe this weather....last year you could see dead pigeons by the street and dead trees, and all because of the damn bloody heat.

Yep...dismal summer here too..no picnics at all for the kids...just rain/drizzel etc. But I expect in the next week the weather will improve and it'll be heat wave time ( kids go back to school!).

This world is changing and fast:(;). Here in E. Pennsylvania, United States it has been very weird, one day its like a steaming Jungle and the next it is in the lower 60's with no humidity at all. I have seen many sun showers but not like the amount I have seen this year along with hail the other day the size of Gob-Stoppers and Jaw Breakers candy. Hail is common but not around here, not this big either. It is very hot sometimes during the day and then I wake up freezing and need to turn the AC OFF cause it gets so much colder at night like a freaking desert.

Guess we all must evolve:frog: to what fits best huh?:proud:

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
