What are you feeding? When's the last time it ate? What is your setup like?

she is one week without eating, eats varies especies earthworms and etc.

the setup..

First, that looks like sphagnum moss. This can be very acidic and can cause ion loss in salamanders.

Second, it looks as if you have potting soil in the tank (at least in your potted plants). These can have added fertilizers, pesticides, manure, vermiculate, etc. which aren't good for salamanders.

I'd suggest getting an organic topsoil, giving it 5 or 6 inches of loosely packed soil, the water dish, and a couple other hides.

One week without food is not unusual or harmful.

Kaysie thanks a lot.. but eve die..
i have sphagnum moss and humus in the tank.. tomorrow i go to the vet with, marty, my other salamander, i hope he is ok.. he eats a lot..

Dragging a reproductive opening across acidic moss would explain the redness. I would pull it all from the tank, and rework the set-up. It is a good looking tank but the moss choice is wrong and I agree about the potting mix.

I'm sorry for your loss, Patly. I hope everything is ok with the other one. Try to make those changes to your tank.

i already took off all the moss and the potting mix.
marty is ok :D
thanks for the help MRIGUY and Kaysie..

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
