I'm currently raising a smooth newt or a palmate newt, I'm not sure since I found it in my fish tank it's egg must have been on a plant in there, lucky I noticed it before my fish ate it^_^
I think it was late hatching because it must have hatched mid-July, but again I'm not sure (I was away at the time and realized it was in my tank when I got back).
I've just moved him (her?) into a new tank, but I'm unsure on how large they are when the need to have land. At the moment he seems to be very happy in his new tank, and is growing quiet well now. I'd say he was 2-3 cm although its very hard to find him lately (i put floating plants in so he could hide)
Any information or advice is appreciated
