Ive got a tiger sal in a semi aquatic tank is that bad? I've got a floating turtle dock for the land, does he need more land? And there are a variety of small fish in the tank is that bad?

Tigers prefer places to burrow over places to swim.

He needs alot more land than a turtle dock. Tiger's like to burrow so you should accomodate that with lots of dirt. If you have a big enough tank you could do part land part water but 10 gal or smaller its best to just have a water dish and dirt. And hides of course.
As to the small fish. Yea thats bad. http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/Mixing_disasters.shtml
There are a couple stories in there about goldfish, plecos, and betta's.

The other people have already given you the right info, but I just want to say they are right, a tiger sal needs a terrarium, not an aquarium. Also, most fish need warmer temperature than the sal does. Sals do best when kept as cold as possible.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
