you do the salt baths outside the fridge.
if your axie is poorly and being fridged you make sure there is a bottle of dechlorinated water in there also, this is what you will use for salt baths and water changes [daily]
the salt baths should be 10 mins 2-3 times a day.
2 teaspoons of salt per litre of water.you dissolve salt in a container of fridged water , take axie from tub and pop him in bath, whilst he is in there it is a good time to do water change on tub. then you can pop him back in tub and fridge.
if he isnt in the fridge you just use dechlorinated water approx same temp as tank.

Just to clarify... you can do salt baths with or without refrigeration.

You should keep the axie fridged until the symptoms are gone.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
