Hi! I have just joined this forum sort of in a panic, as i have a very sick little axie :(... i have posted a thread in the sick axies forum and hope that i get some good feedback for him. I have one wild type female axolotle named Arwen whom i love to little bits and peices. The sick axolotl is one that i rescued from the pet store yesterday and am yet to name. He is albino and looks like a skinny little alien:ufo:. Anyway, would love to swap info/stories/whatever with other avid axolotl fans , catch ya!

Hi Arwen,

welcome to the forums :) Sorry to hear about your sick axie but it was great of you to rescue him - hope it all goes well making him better!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
