I noticed as i was about to feed my axolotls just a few minutes ago, my wild type axolotl swam over to my golden albino and started like nipping bits of his tails and at one point his rami?

What should I do?

By rami, I assume you mean gills?

Probably can smell the food. Just push them apart and feed the aggro one first (we have one that does similar but we shove her out of the way - with turkey baster and feed her first). While she's swallowing we do the others .

If they see some movement towards the tank they will automatically move into position (wherever they see movement).

How much and how often are you feeding?

Hi Rei,

It is fairly easy to train them to go to different areas in the tank to get fed. This will help reduce any aggression.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
