Hi all, I have finally joined after lurking and reading up on potential additions to my collection.
I see a few familiar names on here so will probably be asking a lot of questions.

Hello Billbow, good to see you on here!

Thanks for the welcome, reading up currently....

Welcome Bill. Thanks for the generous donation.

Welcome to the forum Bill! I'm sure a man of your experience has a trick or two to share with us.

Thanks again for the welcome, just ordered a couple of books and have a empty tank coming this week so several possibilitys in the next few weeks/months for new additions.
Just trying to absorb some info prior to opening my mouth and probably getting my foot stuck in it......

Hi Bill welcome to the site,

I eat a generous amount of leather at times so don't worry you would not be alone

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
