Most adults are pretty lazy. They don't move much. It's also not terribly unusual for them to not eat for a few days. I only feed mine once a week in the winter. How warm is your tank?

well she is in with two other girls in there 4ft tank which is full to the top but as shes a bit smaller we have divided the tank up so patch is on her own the tank temp is 19c but keeps going up and down, it just worried us as she has always been energetic and used to always come to the frount of the tank to see us when we enterd our room and new when it was tea time now she dont do any of that. could it be because we put her in with the girls tank as she has only been in there tank for a couple of weeks, as she was in her own tank on her own but thought it would be best to put her in with the girls as its a bigger tank,so its caled the girls tank and the male we had in the girls tank is now in patchs tank as he keeps geting the girls pregnant. but do you think changing tanks would change patches mood hope she isnt porley as freckles our boy is happy with being moved in his own new tank.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
