Hi everyone,
I had an axy for about a year and had nothing but trouble with her, she was always sick.( that wasn't meant to sound awful)
This sight and you people have helped out a great deal and I wanted to say thankyou to all that helped. Sadly she lost the battle and I miss her. I don't know if I was just unlucky and got one that was always sick or if I was doing something wrong. I did everything I think I was supposed to. I would love to get another one but I am too afraid of losing it as well.
Anyway, once again, a great big thankyou to all.
I wish you all the best of luck with yours.
Yours greatfully, Mitahbu.

dont be put off having axies again,
if i were you i would ensure everything is set up ready so as you are able to cope withany problems.
good luck for the future.

Thanks digger.
I tried everything with the last one and I don't know if I was doing it all wrong or just had a sick lotty. I would hate to get another one and lose it as well.
But thankyou very much

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
