hi i have 3 axolotls i am currently keeping them in a 4 by 1 by 1 foot aquarium i was wondering if they are ok in this size tank as they are getting rather large about 9 inches i thought they had stopped growing but apparently not. cheers

can't see a problem with your tank size Rich, 4 ft is long enough for 3 axies.
 
Agreed this sounds generous space. Even if they grow massive this tank will not be overstocked with three.
 
OK thanks for the feedback they seem pretty happy in there anyway.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
