Hi everyone,

I'm new here but ready for some action. ;) I have a small question. Last year I had a few salamanders in my pond. Now this year I want to raise these little creatures. :D Now what kind of salamander is it. That's the first thing I want to know.
Here are a few pictures I took last year:

Offcourse we had allot of other things in the pond for example, way to many frogs. I think we removed 30 frogs last year 'cause of the noise.

But this one I liked the most

I'm still an amateur in these things, so hints and tips are always welcome.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
