Hi

i was just wondering if anyone has tried their Axolotls on Sand Eels?

thanks

Amy theyre wriggly and if theyre slow enough an axie I'm sure will have them :D

the one's i get are dead. and i freeze them. and cut the little fins off and wiggle them in the water and he gobbles them up

Lol Becky!

I just wondered if people used them.

I too use frozen ones and wiggle them around holding them with tweezers!

However Isis waits for her food to come right uip to her, then she jumps on iut! She seems quiute lazy in that sense!!!

forgive me if im wrong but i use these as fishing bait and im pretty damn sure there marine fish, is it ok to feed salty fish to axolotls? if so then cool but i was always under the impression they wer'nt ideal because of there salt content.

marco.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
