Hello. My name is Angel. I live in Canada and I have a Oregon Newt named Norman who I love very much. He is very responsive and quirky and does some really crazy things. I found this site last December when I bought a firebelly newt for my son and she had an accident and developed problems (bloat) and I came to this site for answers to my questions which I did recieve but by then it was too late. I've had Norman for almost 3 years now but will always have more and more questions about him so Im going to be using this site more often now. To the people that have helped me in the past with Aries ( the firebelly ) and to the people who are helping me now with Norman I cant thank you enough. Its so helpful to have ppl who know more about these little creatures than I do so Im not sitting here freaking out cuz my baby is dying lol Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
