feeding larvae

Does anyone think it would be okay to feed larvae crushed up pellets? I read about someone who had success w/ it on caudata culture.

I wouldn't try it.
As far a s I know, larvae only go for live food that moves, thats how they catch it.
Also, larvae are more fragile so I would avoid putting anything in the water other than live food, and take the food out when they've had enough or when the food dies, or it will turn the water bad.

I use Shelless artemia to feed larvae first, then daphnia when they get bigger, then bloodworms.

I would consider it only as a last resort. You live in a metropolitan area so you can probably find live blackworms locally. Those are probably your best bet.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
