G'day

I have two juvinile axolotls (a white axolotl and brown one) who seems to really enjoy each others company although I have heard putting juvinile axolotls together was a bad situation but when I went to the Aquarium shop they were there close together afraid of this large intimidating golden axolotl who was attacking them so I told the owners of the Aquarium shop that the golden axolotl was too aggressive but they did nothing about it so I took them home and they get on very well together.

So my question is how long does an axolotl take to grow into its full size Lakota and Kiowa are about 14-18 cm long.

please help.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
