Hi,
I've just come across this forum. I wish I had found it a few years ago when I got my axolotl (Spyro - a Golden Albino). It was quite hard to find anyone who a)knew what they were! or b)could recommend tank set-ups. After finding a couple of books he is now happy and well (if a little stupid - swimming into the side of the tank, getting transfixed by his bubble tube filter etc!)
Now he is quite large I have just bought a bigger tank and was wondering what sort of undergravel filtration people would recommend. The tank is 24" x 12" and I use pebbles bigger than his head as strata - let's see him try and eat these!
Look forward to hearing from people!
Griff
P.S He has strange white pigmentation on his tail and has had since I got him although the older he gets the more dense it gets. The breeder we got him from seems to think this is natural pigmentation. Does anyone disagree?
