I was so sure my Adi wasn't going to lay eggs...it was last thursday or friday that her and Silus did their we dance and she didn't get fat.
But this morning I woke to hundreds of eggs everywhere and her still laying.
These are my first babies so I'm very excited.

Congratulations to the three of you!

congratulations

I hope you are prepared, they can be quite a handful, although worth it.

have you thought about selling some of the eggs? you will fare better if you only try to raise a few, say up to 50 rather than hundreds :D

Yeah I'm gonig to try and raise 50 this time.
My mum used to breed them so I have her help.

I want to sell the egss but noone seems to interested in new zealand.

I have, but no luck...

I still have a wee while before they hatch so I'm hoping someone will want some

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
