Can anyone recommend a good pet shop between Aberdeen and Yorkshire that will take good care of my young axolotls? I've not had much luck finding homes for them and am having to take them to a pet shop as a last resort. I don't really care if they will pay me for them. I am more concerned that they are well-looked-after and that their new owners are given proper care instructions.

Can't help with the pet shop thing, but have you considered supplying the petshop with a care sheet for the babies that they can give (and will hopefully read) to the new owners? Things to include: substrate, water testing and changing, foods, tank size and decor, lighting. Might help put your mind at ease if you can't home them any other way. Good luck.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
