hi all!:D i was wondering if dull grey worms were diseased or something i know im probably to worried but i want to be sure:grin:

chris:wacko:

p.s thanks in advance for any good advice:D

The dull greyish-white worms which I dig up are a different species to the red banded ones and my axolotls much prefer them as food. Assuming your worms are also fresh do not worry about them being unhealthy.

but i just kept a greyish worm in a jar (with air holes) and he started making this yellow liquid then he was dead:kill:

chris:wacko:

p.s if its relevent i saw a greyish line inside its body:eek:

its happened before to one of my old cultures i just found 2 dead in yellow liquid :uhoh::confused:

You say that you are culturing them... what kind of worms are they, and where did you get them initially?

i found them in a heap of rubbish bin,i kept them for 3 or 4 days then they died

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
