My firebelly newt decided to go on strike and won't eat bloodworms anymore.. I bought some baby guppies and it seems like he is scared of them. Today I bought a baby ghost shrimp, and less than a minute later I couldn't find it in my tank. Is it possible that he ate it so quickly?

Although it is more than possible that your little guy eat the shrimp, ghost shrimp are hard to see and like to hiding. I thought the same thing when I bought mine and I found it a day or two later hiding.

I would try small/chopped earthworms or blackworms. Also keep in mind that if your newt is a little stressed (from the fish/water change/temp) it will turn down food.

Good luck
