Can you feed Axylotls earthworms straight from the garden or do they have to be bought?:ufo::ufo::ufo::ufo::ufo::ufo::ufo::ufo:

I've fed my axolotls earthworms that I've dug up in the garden, I just made sure I washed them well before feeding them the my axy.

It is fine to use worms from the garden but only if the garden is not treated with chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides). If it is, you can also set up a "worm farm" to breed your own worms - this makes it easier to find worms in winter, too, when they become more difficult to find in a garden.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
