What should i feed my little juvenile axolotl? I tried bloodworm, daphnia, some lance fish, sinking pellets and it doesn't seem much interested. It eats about two worms and then doesn't bother....is it ok, it does seem quite skinny and im very worried

Have you tried earthworms? They are a wonderful food for axolotls.

This article discusses various types of food:

How long have you had him? If he is new, he may just be trying to get used to the new surroundings. Have you checked your water parameters (temperature, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)? Is he showing any other strange symptoms?

Hello, first off could you tell us how old and big the Axolotl is? Sometimes they just don't like certain foods, but if its not eating properly you may want to test the water, make sure its healthy, and try smaller bits off food. Hope it improves.

My axie LOVES nightcrawlers. I have to cut them into smaller pieces so he can eat them though.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
