Well, now that I've got your attention I can say hello! I'm a middle age guy that has kept snakes and lizards most of my life but just recently fell in love with a couple of spanish ribbed newts. I found this sight by accident while looking for a source to purchase a few more SRN's. I can't wait to spend some time here and share my new found enthusiasm with other people that feel the same as I do about these amazing little creatures. Take care and I'll talk to you soon!

Well, you certainly got our attention and welcome to the forum!

Whenever I look at my axolotls I tend to think the UFO's have already conquered us ;)

Cheers Jacq.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
