He'll probably eat the adults considering their small size. It would also be stressful for one of the animals because Endler's are tropical fish needing warm temperatures and the newts are temperate, needing temperatures below 70F most of the year.
How big do the CFN actually get? Many sites say different sizes (from 6-12cm. Thats a big difference) if the newts are 6-7cm, and the endlers 2.5 than it would be a little harder for a newt to eat them. Or I am wrong...
As Abraham stated the issue here is temperature. You could possibly find some temperature that is in the middle of the road in which both newt and fish may survive for a while but then you are going to have two groups of animals that are stressed. Also you are correct about Endlers being so prolific. A friend of mine has a tank full and he is constantly having to cull some out. Even if all the other parameters would be harmonious it may still be very stressful for the newt(s) to live in such a crowded environment.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
