Hi i have a slight problem with one of my axolotls.
it (I think its a she) is swimming back and forth along the glass with its head facing it. I thought it was me but it seems to be doing it very fast. I had a closer look and I think its the reflection on the glass of itself!. I really couldnt come up with any thing else but I think it is.
its swimms very fast and goes on the edge of the tank. some times it tryes to bumb into its reflection. HELP OR ADVICE WOULD BE APPREATED
by the way, anyone seen finding nemo?; look out for Flo

Mine sometimes do this, too - and yes, I think of Flo every time. Just out of curiosity, though, could you give us your water readings for temperature, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate?

Thanks,

-Eva

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
