I can't seem to find a care guide for warty newts. Does anyone know how to take care of them or a website with a good care guide? Would it be okay in this semiaquatic tank. The water depth would be 4 inches and the actual swimable water volume would be a little over 3 gallons which I measured with an empty milk gallon. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753235?

I think these newts are pretty aquatic and would prefer as much water as you can give them, maybe with a couple spots to haul out. I don't think they are semi-aquatic.

I believe that warty newts are also quite uncommon within the pet trade. The chances of you finding some are going to be quite low. For more information on the Paramesotriton or warty newts, try reading the forum for that genus, here.

We're not a clean-up crew. We're not going to delete every old thread on the board, or that would defeat the entire purpose of having a forum.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
