Hi all im back after a long time away!
Will a 30 inch/90 litre tank be ok for 3 axys at all?
Cheers
Russ

A 30 inch tank will be adequate for one large adult or 2 small adults. It will not be big enough for 3 adults.

I wouldn't put more than 2 (adult) axolotls in there.

AW: Tank size question!

Hello,

when my inch/cm Translator tell me right, it is a 76 cm lenght Tank.
So when you account, that Axolotl can grow till a size of 30 cm you will see, that your Tank-Size is the absolut minimum.
Bigger is much better. Than the animals are also more active.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
