I got my salamander from the wilderness... and i am trying to feed it those pellets you can buy at any pet store... but it wont eat them(its winter so live food is hard to get!) Do i just give it some time?
The salamander will almost certainly not eat pellets, no matter how long you wait. That just isn't a suitable food for a terrestrial sal. There are lots of options for live food. Pet shops have crickets and waxworms (which should be dusted with a calcium/D powder). Live earthworms are sold at bait shops and even Walmart.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
