Hello everyone, I'm from England and live in a little part of it called Soilhull near Birmingham. I have always had an Interest in Amphibians and really want to get one. I have never seen a Newt before only in pictures, but wanna go out herping to see if I can find any soon. Right now the only herps I own is two African Dwarf Frogs.

The Herp I am looking into getting is a Fire Belly Newt, but everywhere I go they never have any.

So yeah. you might start seeing posts of mine around here.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, Shadow.

I HIGHLY recommend getting a captive bred firebelly newt. They are much healthier than the specimens you usually find in the pet shop. They're fairly commonly available. Take a browse through our For-Sale section, or putting up a want-ad.

Ok yeah I will! thanks.

The tank I have at the moment is a 35L (7.5 UK gallons.) that contains: Two Adfs, three adult WCMM with around 4 babies and two baby guppys. I know what I am doing here as I am very involved in fish keeping, while being members in various fish forums.

I also have 1 gallon tank.

Now lets say the 35L was empty, how many FBN could I keep.

Anything for the 1 gallon tank?

Cheers.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
