Hi, I live in Corvallis Oregon. I currently do not keep any amphibian pets, though I do keep some reptiles--Desert Tortoises, Gila Monsters and Arizona Mountain Kingsnakes as well as a Common Kingsnake and a Rosy Boa.

I am interested in obtaining some of the discontinued Tennessee Aquarium Salamander Collection replicas from Safai ltd. Does anyone happen to know where I can still find some. I do have the Pseudotriton ruber already.

Any info on these would be much appreciated--thanks,
Brad Mason

Have you looked on eBay? I've seen some nice replicas there, but I don't know if they were that exact type.

I have looked on ebay--I found the P. ruber, but none of the others. I also called the Tennessee Aquarium and they said they are out and will not have anymore.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
