Well, I fed my Tiger Salamander his first pinky mouse today. He gobbled it up in seconds, as it wasn't too big. I even thought I'd managed to fill him up... but then he started begging for more in under a minute. Bottomless pit is the best way to describe him.
Anyway I was just thinking how amazingly fast it's growing. It's around 7 inches now and when I first got him he was only 3, and that was only a few months ago! So that's a little update for you, and a method of making a Tiger content for a minute or so...

hahaha I fed my two youngest this morning and your post reminded me that maybe they were "hungry" again - lol they were! Greedy gluts!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
