As these are readily available in Australia, I was wondering if any Australian owners of Axolotls use these for feeding and if they are good or bad for our little friends ?

Thanks

If they're harvested from the ocean I can image they'd be salty and evil. But these are recommended as shrimp food

Polychaetes have high levels of essential fatty acids, particularly the polyunsaturated fatty acids that are believed to be an important dietary requirement for penaeid shrimp reproduction and development.
It also says they have high levels of 'bromophenols,' but I have no idea what this is or whether it's good/bad. Hopefully somebody can help. They look like scary little worms, but they're quite interesting. Check out these Christmas tree tube worms from the reef! http://www.tropicalunderwaterphotography.com/gallery_647.html

The only live worms I can get my hands on are bait shop earthworms, and its a 40 minute round trip to get them - this makes me very interested in anything that can be shipped

It's 50cm wide, even that's too big for me! I'm going to try to put something together with 2 ice cream containers or something, I don't go through that many worms anyway. But I still need to have a supply :p Good luck if you give it a go, it looks pretty solid if you have room.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
