Hi all

I am at present living in West yorkshire and hoping to breed some Axolotls,At present I only have one male but as soon as I can find a female localy the fun will begin, I have joined to pick the brains of the " Experts " so that hopefully I will have some success. Happy new year to you all

Hi. Just wondered if you've visited freeads.co.uk? Someone is selling axolotls in Leeds on there. Is that close to you?

Hi, I'm also from West Yorkshire, I got one male and one female Axolotl from QSS on Wakefield Road in Bradford, you can also get them from Paws for Thought in Leeds- great for supplies but any pets I've got from there have all died quickly and suddenly. I am also hoping to breed once I got used to mine and they are bigger, I hope my info helps. QSS is the place I'd suggest, although I just bought the last 2 yesterday- lol!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
