I dont know if this has been posted yet but I just watched a show on the national geographic channel about the biggest salamanders in the world according to this show.It was on last night and repeats monday jan.18 at 11.am.They showed a few species of newts and sals showing how most caudates fit into your hand. They show the hellbender, japanese giant salamander, the greater siren, the amphiuma. It was pretty interesting, hope you get to see it.The show is "Dangerous enounters with Brady Barr" and it airs on the national geographic channel.

I might watch this...although I can't stand Brady Barr.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
