Hello my name is Carlos. I live in Peru, South America (for those who don't know where my country is located :p).
My girlfriend and I bought a couple of albino axolotls a couple of weeks ago. We named them Gyu and Nyu (gyunyu means milk in japanese :>).
They are doing just fine. Hope that some day they will be able to breed.

Regards from Peru

Carlos

Two albinos eh? hopefully one is male and one is female...sometimes it is hard to tell. There is a lot of info here about breeding. How to do it, when to do it, and things to prepare for hatchlings. Hope you enjoy the site.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
