Hey everybody!

My names Damian, and I joined this site about 20 mins ago.

I currently have a Melanoid axolotl that I bought about 3 weeks ago, and its BLOODY AWESOME!!! I named it Leviathan, and for those who don't know, that's a massive mythical sea creature.

Not sure what else I should be putting in this post...

Hi Damian. We're glad to have you. And especially glad you listened to 'the box' :D

PS: I LOVE the name Leviathan! Wait until you see it open the gaping maw to swallow worms whole. lol.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
