I pointed a webcam at my axolotl and started uploading pictures to my site every 20 seconds, it's refreshed automatically. If anyone wants to take a look, you are invited! I don't know for how long I will continue to "film" my axolotl this way, so if the page is not refreshing, you know why.

I recommend looking at the site with firefox + adblock plus, because it's a free hosting and it inserts lots of ads in my page.

here is the link: http://glauryn.tripod.com/tmp/auto-on.html

Hope you like it! have fun!

My axolotl name is "bichejo". If you can't see him, maybe he swam under his litle house

hey mate, personally, love this idea, planning on doing it myself...

would be great for universities and stuff i guess..
and maybe if someone was watching, and saw that your axie ingested one of the glass beads, or the Idiana Jones figurine :p

personally, id remove the glass beads... also its looks very green

im not sure if this is due to the webcam, the background or simly your water is full of algae.

please shed some light on this (lol bit of a pun there)

well done witht he software side of everything

(i know your running ubuntu, i have ubuntu installed on my PS3, could i make it grab pics from my ps3 eye toy, and post them like you have (i dont really use a pc at home...))

Shoot me a pm if you can helpwith ubuntu on ps3, or in general

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
