Hey guys,

This peaked my curiousity, my boy Sadaharu has always had these little specs on it. It doesn't look like fungus to me. His behaviour is very normal. I always make 100% water changes every 2 to 3 weeks. Today I noticed the Specs just seem whiter or something. I was just wondering if everyone's axie has these kind of dots on their body. Thanks guys!

Hi Hitman,

It looks like pigmentation to me alot of leucistics show it.

If you do a complete water change every 2 to 3 weeks your tank will take forever to cycle. I would suggest a 20% change weekly

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
