They both are leucistic (which is a phenotype). As far as 'genotype', they're not necessarily the same. There are a host of things associated with genotype that are not necessarily outwardly expressed.

From a basic colour gene point of view, they are the same.

Those are some nice axolotls you have there!

thank you all frienlies but why they have the different appearance  is it cause by environment\nutrition\captivity condition or any others

Hi

As Kaysie said they are both Leucistic axolotls. The colour can vary from white (almost Albino looking) to a dark Olive/grey and all the variations in between.

Its a genetic thing rather than environment\nutrition\captivity condition or any others.

I'm pretty convinced that within leucistic axolotls (which everyone agrees these are) the amount of freckles can vary from none to a great deal, and environment undoubtedly plays a role.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
