Hello,

I am from Ontario and will be getting some FB newts to keep in my 55 gallon tank shortly. It is currently setup and cycling.

If anyone in ontario knows of someone selling CB FB newts please let me know. Big Als fish store has some but I am not sure they are CB.

Where in Ontario do you live? I know of a shop in Ottawa that specializes in CB reptiles and amphibians. It's called little Ray's and is located on Bank St.

I am near Toronto. So unfortunately Ottawa is a little far.

All Cynops orientalis found in petshops are WC...
Take a look around the For Sale area on this forum, you might find some breeder offering CB C.orientalis. Good luck!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
