This might be a stupid qestion but do newts mate with each other if they are from the same batch of eggs ??

Yes.
They´ll mate with anything...sometimes they´ll even try to mate with other species of newt...or other animals..hell, even rocks...

Males are very non-specific when it comes to mating. The females are the ones who are in charge of deciding which male to mate with, but there´s no mechanism to avoid mating with related animals.

Normally yes.
Caudates do not work like mammals...we all know what inbreding does to mammals, but inbreeding has little effect on caudates.
As far as i know they can inbreed for generations without showing ill effects. However this might promote morphs and other variations, and eventually can lead to problems.

So basically...you can inbreed them without problems, but if you abuse it, eventually there´s going to be trouble.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
