My tiger is now fully land dwelling and I'm wondering how I'm supposed to fed him if he is always hiding. There are earthworms, slugs and isopods in his enclosure but I'd like to make sure he is actually eating. Will he take earthworms from a water dish or should I just wait until he gets hungry enough to venture out?

Just leave them in a water bowl so they cant get out and he will come out and eat them when hes hungry enough and just check the water bowl and see how many is left. or if you woudlr ather see him eat for yourself then yes feed him when hes out.
Or if he is just refusing them try some different foods theres plenty out there.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
