First off, thank you for all the help I received when I first joined this forum with eight terrestrial FBN's and no idea what to do. There is alot of expert advice to be had on this site, Im sure dozens of amphibians are living in capital conditions as a result of the discussion and sharing that happens here.

I have ordered (and received) Springtails and flightless fruit flies for my gang. The spingtails seem simple enough, I give them damp dirt, a lid without holes and ground fish flakes? The flies I dunno about. I have a container with some live ones and a wad of fly medium containing little maggots. I dunno if the adults are still eating the blue suff or if I should have given them food by now. Or I have to re-wet it at some point. Or if it goes bad. I also have the fly medium in unused, dry form and spare containers but I dont know what to do. Anyone know what to do?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
