hello everyone, I am new on this website, and I am a first time salamander owner. I brought my first tiger slamander home last night which was aug 19, but unfortunatly he didn't survive the night. He was kinda unhealthy when i picked him up, and was worried about him all night. I woke up this morning and found him dead. I am trying to decide weather I should get a tiger slamander again or if I should get a fire salamnder. I hope to meet new people on here, who share the same interest as me. I look forward to hearing from all of you, have a great night everyone!

Welcome! Sorry you lost your first salamander. Better luck with your next one, eh?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
