some petco's have newts but I dont recommend buying from them. Try looking in the classifieds here. They will have a captive bred version of what your looking for.

Petgoods ?

Does Petgoods sell Newts , mostly Paddlebelly . Also how much would a Paddlebelly Newt be ?

Re: Petgoods ?

Youngm, you posted two Intro threads, so I merged them. If you want to know if local stores sell newts, please visit those stores (or call them), I don't think people on this forum can give you an answer that will be relevant in your town.

Before you buy a newt, it's a good idea to make a nice setup first, then get the newt.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
