Well I got a new edition to my family a beautiful female barred salamander! Now the question is will she play well with the two salamanders she's living with? Even though the two shes living with are two different types of tiger salamander, blotched and barred? Let me know what you think. laters:D

Did you quarantine the new tiger before adding it to your others? What is the size difference between them? Mixing different subspecies of tigers is not usually a big deal since they very rarely will breed in captivity so there is not much risk of inbreeding. But there still are risks when considering pathogens that can be introduced by a new animal that hasn't been quarantined or the fact that a bigger tiger may be territorial and injure a smaller tank mate.

They should be fine together provided there is not too great of a size difference between them. I maintain 4-5 different subspecies together and have never experienced any problems.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
