Hey guys, I'm a new member.

Im from Wollongong, which isn't quite Sydney, but about 45 mins south.

I used to own an Axolotl when I was much much younger, a gorgeous bright yellow one named "Doddle" (the axolotl) haha. Unforntunatly it went bad after my brother foolishly added to other fish, who tried to eat his gills, the next morning we woke up and the 2 fish were inside his belly.

So now that the girl friend and I are looking at getting one, I want to get as much info as possible, maybe suss out any Sydney siders looking to sell any theirs, etc.

Regards,

John

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
