Hey everyone, I go by the name of Sobchak and I'd just like to take a moment to introduce myself. I'm a college student in Oregon, who is steadily becoming more interested in reptiles and marine life. I found this website actually through a digg article about creatures you'll never catch when fishing, or something along those lines. I look forward to finding more about them through this website.

Welcome Sobchak! This is a fantastic forum and you'll meet some really cool people who have a love of wildlife. Since joining my knowledge and increased so much. You could really say that it is a learning experience by being part of caudata.org.
Enjoy!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
